Normandy 1944

The idea of the Normandy road came along when Tamiya brought out the "Dragon Wagon". We wanted to do something with it but weren't sure what...Then we decided it had to be something big, as the dragon wagon is very big on its own. We started puting together a small road about 1m long and started playing with ideas... The dragon Wagon was to be the main vehicle we some tanks and and an abandoned German truck. The diorama was done and we were happy with it...                                                                                           The only picture left of the original version

After a year or two we though.. "hm to much focus on the "wagon"....no enough going on." It was then that we decided to use a 6 foot table as a base. It has its own legs so no problem there.. then we found out that one table was no enough of what we wanted.. so we used two!

About every company is used on the diorama with some kits and figures from the box, others with heavy conversion work.

-Tamiya (those old "sitting GIs are used about 5 times all in many different ways!)

-Italeri

-Revel

-Verlinden

-Dragon

-Custom Diroramics

-Faller

-some polish firm that made poor quality kits

-unknown

-bits box

card game

We found that after a while of brainstorming and putting stuff here and there things started getting out of hand....there's the dragon wagon (the only reason we started making a diorama in the first place!), POWs, blown bridge, aid station, knocked out tiger, fuel dump, card game, Longtom, Sherman mine tank with engine trouble....Its the kind of diorama that you can look at for hours and still find cool stuff.
